The Lagostina range deserves pride of place in your kitchen. They are reassuringly solid, but not too heavy to use.

The benefits of the polished stainless steel non-stick interior are obvious from first use. A curry simmering for a good 3 hours left no trace and cleaning was a doddle. The riveted handles mean that even after several hours on the hob, they are only warm to the touch - an important safety feature if you want to use the stockpot at the table - and with its elegant Italian lines I was keen to show this off.
